My farrier has taught me the value of patience, especially when it comes to the donkeys [Bilbo and Frodo]. They have come along way since they first arrived. They were young, scared and nervous. They tried to kick the farrier when he came to trim their feet. He was so patient with them, never forced them or was overbearing. He just asked for the hoof and waited for them to pick it up. It probably took 6 months of trims but now they are so good. This patience and kindness is now viable in their entire demeanor. They have never bit or kicked. They take the treats with their lips, They are gentle around kids. I just found their arrival day photos and noticed that they are not on the plog so I will do a flash back post.
