Used the farm truck again today. This time we got 40 bales of hay.
Update on the fencing: it has been such a wet and rainy month that the posts have not set.  So we got 1/4 of the fence up and had to put a temporary fence across the field for now. A big thanks to all my friends for coming out to help with fence party part 2.
Lastly, at the end of the evening I took time to give a little love to Reds (aka Barron).

Post Party

A very special thank you goes out to the friends of GSF that came out on Sunday to help put the posts in the the back pasture.  The day started with rain followed by heat and humidy, but it was a huge success. We put in 56 posts.  As soon as they dry up a bit we can put upd the wire fence and Heather and George can go back there to graze.

We have a new set of GSF friends taking lessons, Welcome to the farm family!

Sunbun went on his first trail ride with us.

Cuervo was brought up from the field by Casey. Horse word of the day: Leading a horse while on top of another horse is called ponying.

A river runs through it…

The Barn that is.

We had a torrential down pour on Tuesday evening.  The water flowed off the riding ring pasture right into the Barn. We were about ankle deep in water and trying to do the barn work.

Grassy Pastures

Last week the horses were put out for the first time this year in the front pasture.  It was like heaven for them.  With the little rain we had at the beginning of spring it took a little longer to grown.  Now the grass is way high, gonna put them out again today!

Young riders

I was about this age when I first was put on a horse.  For some people all it takes is a postive exposure at a young age and your hooked!

On Saturday Mugsy learns how to ride.  Casey continues his getting back into shape. I learn how to drive my tractor and cut the back pasture. It ends with Casey trimming the grass while I finally get to put my feet up. Great, productive week end at the GSF. Thanks to my friends who helped  set up the tractor and did all the barn work.
