I was about this age when I first was put on a horse. For some people all it takes is a postive exposure at a young age and your hooked!
Head shots

Casey, Apple, & Nash waiting for the vet. So they decided to pose for the camera. Americas next top horse model?
This weekend in pictures.

On Saturday Mugsy learns how to ride. Casey continues his getting back into shape. I learn how to drive my tractor and cut the back pasture. It ends with Casey trimming the grass while I finally get to put my feet up. Great, productive week end at the GSF. Thanks to my friends who helped set up the tractor and did all the barn work.
Back cracks and horse tracks.

Last weekend at the farm the old fashioned barter system was in use. A new friend of the farm gave me a back adjustment and in return we all went out for a lovely afternoon trail ride.
It was Casey’s first trail since being on the farm. He loved it. He even broke out in to a cute little canter or lope. I should have brought him back to a trot but we were having so much fun. One last thing I learned to drive my zero turn lawn mower. I cut the front pasture all by my self, a personal accomplishment.

Friday was a great evening for a sunset trial ride. AND finally we got on casey. He is so out of shape but such a good boy. You would have never known it was so long since he was last ridden.
Happy Easter

Now that the days are getting longer and a little warmer friends of GSF and the horses are enjoying the rides.
The big burn was a bust
April 4, 2012
So after months of staring at a pile of trees, I decided to burn them with the help of the local volunteer fire department. Of course the night before it rained and drizzled all day. So needless to say not much burned. On to plan ‘C’ friends with chainsaws and rent a chipper.
