Tonka’s First Horse Show
August 28, 2012
As part of his desensitization training Mitch took Tonka to a horse show. He did really well getting used to all the horses and people. He was surrounded by other very calm horses like Dalton, Tony and Henry. So it turned out to be a very successful day.

Back Pasture… Finally!
August 21, 2012
It has been about a year in the making but the horses finally got to enjoy the full back pasture last week. They loved the open space and kicked up their heels a bit just for
the fun of it.
The Farm’s first Babies!
August 20, 2012
I noticed the little grey bantam hen was not laying eggs, until I found her hidden clutch of them behind the nesting box. She chirped one day and gave away her location. Since she had already started to lay on then I decided to let them hatch. Thinking there would be a few at most. Well last week we had 8 chicks hatch! They are very cute and she is such a good mother hen. We separated them from the adults by giving them thier own section of the chicken coop. Last week, I found a home for five of them and decided to keep a few to watch them grow, replace some that we had lost to a fox and not upset mama hen too much by taking all her babies away.

August 14, 2012
Tonka is our trainer’s next project. He has taken Carrie’s place in the revolving training stall. Tonka is an 8 year old mustang. He spent the first 2 years of his life running wild in Wyoming. He is joining us for a month and will be learning dressage.
